The Volcanoes Coaching staff focuses on teaching players the fundamentals of the game and situational play, along with the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. They believe that competition is a good thing, as long as it is healthy competition. Coaches and parents need to keep things in perspective and remember that when you get down to it, this is for the kids. Everyone involved needs to view this as a fun thing to do! With that said, players need to be serious while at practice and games, willing to listen, learn and work on their own at home, have good attitudes and hustle, hustle, hustle. It’s the Coaches job to get the practices organized, keep things moving, and make practices interesting, productive safe and fun…..It’s the player’s job to stay focused, try their best and work hard. Parents also need to show some commitment by making sure their child is ready to go, has what they need and gets to practices and games on time. Parents should practice with their child at home, even if it is just playing some catch or talking over game situations. Parents should also attend as many games as possible, lend the coaches and team Moms a hand when needed and just give a lot of positive support to their young player and their team. |
